Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical support for the Technical Advisory and Assistance Services (TAAS) program at Hanscom AFB.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Support the update of the Family of Advanced Beyond-Line-of-Sight Terminals Command Post Terminal (FAB-T CPT) Technical Requirements Document (TRD) by providing recommended updates to the draft requirements based on technical research and feedback from the government team.
  • Ensure the FAB-T CPT TRD accurately captures the FAB-T CPT requirements and supports the successful execution of several Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Modernization contracts.
  • Support Airborne Production Restart (APR) government Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and APR contractor IDE standup.
  • Ensure that the APR government IDE and APR contractor IDE meet the needs and requests of the Survivable Air Operations Center (SAOC) program and of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Strategic Communications Division program office.
  • Support the review and development of an enterprise-level briefing on FAB-T CPT cryptographic component needs by building summary graphics, taking minutes and action items during discussions with division leadership, and providing recommendations on briefing slides.
  • Ensure upcoming platforms and existing users have sufficient equipment for operations and development.
  • Update a tracker of the requests for variance and change notices on the FAB-T CPT and provided recommendations on government responses to these issues.
  • Built and improve summary graphics to present to division leadership.
  • Ensure that all open issues on the FAB-T CPT are addressed under current or upcoming contract actions.

Qualifications

10+ years experience in systems engineering.  Master’s degree in a related technical field.  Experience working on each stage of the system development life cycle from initiation through deployment/sustainment.  Experience with Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Activity Support (e.g. TRR, SRR, CDR) and Integration Support with AFLCMC/WBD – B-Kit/A-Kit integration.  Experience with requirements management (supporting SRD, CDD, etc.), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), technical evaluations, and risk management.  Experience with RFP development including requirements gathering and analysis and source selection evaluation criteria.  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, including data management, list creation, and integration with Power Platform.  Experience with other automation tools and platforms.  Demonstrated proficiency with process modeling and developing workflow diagrams.  Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns.  Capable of performing: problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, “Set based design” for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA) and cost versus capability trade off analysis.  Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.  Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards.  Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations.  Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff.  Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).

 

The projected compensation range for this position is $174,290-$195,775. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
