Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Agile Project Manager to lead and oversee technical tasks for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Agile activities and initiatives, orchestrating IT projects with a focus on agility, collaboration, and iterative delivery.
  • Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams, implement Agile frameworks, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain shared roadmaps and delivery metrics for leadership visibility.
  • Standardize Agile practices and introduce consistent cadences, tools, and reporting methods.
  • Coach teams in Agile and DevSecOps best practices to enhance capability development.
  • Ensure that IT projects are delivered with speed, flexibility, and alignment to organizational goals, maximizing value and minimizing risks.
  • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics for strategic decision-making and project optimization, while ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational standards and vision.

Qualifications

10+ years experience in project and IT service management role.  Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.  Must be PMP certified. Certifications such as SAFe RTE, PMI-ACP, CSP-SM, or equivalent are a plus. Expertise in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and scaled frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus), combined with experience in DevSecOps practices and tools such as continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), backlog management, and automated testing.  Proven success in leading cross-team delivery in complex, multi-application environments, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  Experience in technical or managerial business roles related to functional responsibilities, with strong customer service and problem-solving skills.  Able to manage large amounts of complex information, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in high-volume, high-stress environments.  Skilled in systematic analysis for problem-solving, showing self-motivation and capability to work both independently and collaboratively.  Proficient in FAA multi-system software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and SharePoint.  Strong communication skills, with responsiveness and discretion in handling confidential information.  Must be a US citizen.
