Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Multimedia Systems Engineer to provide full life cycle technical support for multimedia, A/V, imagery, and broadcast systems with the NASA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at Johnson Space Center. This is a full-time position.
8+ years experience in project and financial management with engineering experience in television, A/V systems, and/or electronics. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Member or Certified by the ADDA or ADDA (digital) program preferred. Strong knowledge of multimedia and broadcast systems, system design principles, AutoCAD, and electronics engineering. Experience administering Vault and MPulse systems, including drafting standards, release modes, and engineering documentation workflows. Familiar with NASA or federal procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Deltek, Oracle) for managing PRs, POs, and vendor invoicing. Extensive knowledge of SMPTE standards, NEC codes, A/V requirements, and industry best practices. Experience managing technical crews and coordinating work with General Contractors. Expertise in the latest version of AutoCAD drafting software. Knowledge of databases and A/V drafting schemas. Experience with the following: analog and digital baseband over copper; CATV over copper; analog and digital baseband over short haul fiber optics; facility automation systems; virtual routing systems; Internet Protocol Television (IPTV); camera control; audio mixing systems; digital switching systems; and multimedia control systems. Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365, as well as SharePoint and Box. Experience working in sensitive or mission-critical environments, with awareness of federal IT security protocols and data handling standards. Experience supporting NASA, aerospace, DoD, or other large federal technical environments desired. Strong ability to analyze complex systems, identify gaps, and independently develop solutions. Able to evaluate team strengths and weaknesses and provide input to performance assessments. Demonstrated leadership in guiding system architecture transitions and modernization efforts. Able to think, plan, and work independently while meeting deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, and cross-functional teams. Excellent organizational skills and commitment to staying current with emerging technologies. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide daily/weekly project reporting. Must be a US citizen.
