Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Computer Hardware Specialist to provide technical support for desktop, laptop, and network hardware issues, ensuring the optimal performance of IT infrastructure at Fort Bragg.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide implementation, administration, and support of MS Windows OS, including installation, software distribution, and implementation on client systems supported by the NEC.
  • Provide support for the MS Outlook e-mail users.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for software and hardware.
  • Resolve and document problems when installing and upgrading systems and software.
  • Provide support for the administration of remote access systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting and installation support for Nortel and Cisco VoIP desktop instruments.
  • Support the implementation and adjudication of cyber security and security directives as promulgated by the Department of the Army Cybersecurity Directorate, CIO.
  • Provide enterprise Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) systems, to include supporting software products that enable a desktop common operating environment and enforcing desktop configuration management, to include mission database applications, desktop IAVA security standards.
  • Provide systems administration (O&M) and provide input to the IMO to develop procedural guidance for O&M of servers, cyber security, and user accounts, including technical and operational aspects of server management.
  • Provide service desk and product support for COTS hardware and software, network support, repair service, including those dedicated to single applications and providing broad support for networks and desktop services.
  • Install, move, and remove telecommunications equipment and service.
  • Monitor all work orders and trouble tickets for status and compliance with established timeframes for work performance.
  • Provide VoIP support to include installing, configuring and upgrading VoIP telephone instruments on an end- user’s desktop.

Qualifications

6+ years experience in technical and systems support.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with IAT Level II).  Must hold a Microsoft certification or be able to obtain within six months of start date.  ITIL Foundations training desired.  Extensive knowledge of hardware and software support and systems administration in enterprise environments.  Experience supporting Microsoft Office/365.  Knowledge of current Army software.  Proficient in domain configurations, user account management, and troubleshooting of enterprise IT systems.  Strong understanding of network connectivity, wireless access troubleshooting, and IT security best practices.  Experience in configuring, installing, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and associated peripherals.  Able to coordinate with vendors and escalate hardware/software issues as needed.  Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Army-specific ticketing systems.  Familiar with Army IT security policies, Active Directory, and network troubleshooting techniques.  Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
