Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide VMWare support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage capacity and trending reports of system operations.
  • Analyze system requirements and performance of hardware/software systems, and develops/recommends specific measures to increase the overall efficiency of these systems.
  • Perform day to day troubleshooting and maintenance of VMware ESXi, vCenter, NSX and related servers.
  • Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all VMWare servers and installed software.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in systems administration.  HS diploma or GED.  Must be Security+ certified.  Must hold one of the following VMWare certifications: Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) or Network Virtualization (VCP-NV).  Experience installing, testing, tuning, maintaining, hardening, upgrading, patching, designing and documenting supporting systems, utility programs, and monitoring tools for physical hosts and virtual machines running VMWare operating systems on both classified and unclassified networks.  Experience with system design, implementation, and support of core Windows server infrastructure/components in the environment desired.  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
