Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to provide change management support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Act as organization change sponsor and manage daily change management activities to include updating all program documentation and facilitate all change management meetings to include, but not limited to: Technical Interchange Meetings, Change Advisory Board, Release Management Board, and Engineering Review Boards. 
  • Ensure CMDB data is maintained by following approved Configuration Management policies, processes, procedures, and control compliance.
  • Analyze the CMDB data to highlight data gaps and errors and take appropriate action.
  • Manage assigned CMDB users and groups.
  • Develop, publish, provide CMDB reports, establish trends and offer recommendations to streamline any processes to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze CMDB metrics and provide metrics for all incidents and changes assigned to the organization.
  • Provide guidance and training to the CMDB users in support of the maintenance of the CMDB.
  • Validate all Asset Management deliverables to include inventories and asset/configuration management baselines.
  • Oversee annual inventory of all accountable devices (per AFI), track product lifecycles, and issue devices to unit personnel as approved by GOV leads.
  • Ensure all device information to include, but not limited to; manufacturer, model, serial number, device cost, product lifecycles, software versions to include firmware, location, and issuance information is documented accurately.
  • Participate in missing device investigations as needed.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in configuration and change management.  HS diploma or GED.  Experience managing DoD Configuration Management programs.  Must have the ability to analytically solve problems that may arise and determine preventative measures.  Basic understanding and technical knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT domains.  Must have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.  Must possess a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
