Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to provide support for the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC).  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.
  • Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.
  • Present the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users.
  • Collaborate with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.

Qualifications

8+ years experience in operations research, systems analysis, or management sciences.  Master’s degree in a related field.  Experience in statistics and applied mathematics.  Expertise in developing multi-process analysis methodologies or campaigns.  Experience in the design of simulation experiments to minimize compute time.  Experience with the Monte Carlo method, specifically, as applied to computer simulation.  Experience with Python, R, VBA, or MATLAB preferred.  Experience collecting and analyzing data and develop decision support software, services, or products.   Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.  Must have strong communications skills and the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
