Abacus Technology is seeking a Software Engineer to support full life cycle software solutions for the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC).  This is a full-time position.

• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, confer with users; study systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigate problem areas, and follow the software development life cycle.
• Determine feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, proposed solutions, and time and cost constraints.
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Analyze and refine systems requirements.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• Translate systems requirements into applications prototypes.
• Plan and design systems and applications architecture.
• Design user interfaces.
• Work with customers to test applications.

4+ years experience in software engineering.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  DoD experience preferred.  Experience formulating and designing software systems for constructive simulation systems (e.g., AFSIM, ITASE, NGTS preferred), using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.  Experience developing software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.  Experience spanning the full development life cycle from prototyping (concept and user-centered design), through software architecture and modeling, agile development, testing and deployment, to software assessments (verification and validation).  Experience modeling communications networks.  Experience developing software tools for data pipelines, data extraction, mapping, and aggregation preferred.  Expertise in C++ and/or Java and familiarity with scripting languages (Python and R preferred).  Must be a US citizen and hold a Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
