Abacus Technology is seeking a Multimedia Systems Engineer to provide technical support audio visual, imagery, and broadcast systems for the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) program at Johnson Space Center. This is a full-time position.
12+ years experience in engineering for television and AV systems. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Knowledge of multimedia and broadcast systems, system design, AutoCAD, and electronics. Work-related certifications desired including CTS, CTS-D, AMX Ace, and/or PMP. Training with Crestron, AMX, Extron, BiAMP, ClearOne, PolyCom, and Cisco desired. American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) membership or certification desired. Extensive knowledge of NEC and A/V requirements and best practices. Extensive project management experience. Knowledge and expertise with AutoCAD drafting software. Knowledge of databases and A/V drafting schemes. Experience with the following technologies: analog and digital baseband over copper or short haul fiber optics; CATV over copper; facility automation systems; virtual routing systems; IPTV; camera control; audio mixing systems; digital switching systems; and multimedia control systems. Able to think and work independently and meet deadlines. Able to effectively interact with all levels of the team and organization. Must be detail oriented and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Must demonstrate an interest in remaining current on new and emerging technologies. Able to manage multiple projects and provide regular status reports and updates. Experience managing a crew and working closely with general contractors. Proficient with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Box. Able to work overtime or a shift schedule as needed to meet deadlines. Must be a US citizen.
