Abacus Technology is seeking an IT Specialist to provide technical support for the Army at the Aberdeen Proving Ground.  This is a full-time position.

• Provide administration and support of servers and storage services in a complex, virtual environment.
• Support user administration.
• Develop new methods, approaches, and procedures for providing customer service to end users and technical support.
• Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of IT and storage issues.
• Interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Conduct analysis of difficult issues affecting IT systems.
• Evaluate and recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT and storage services.
• Test the functionality of systems.
• Ensure optimal use of commercially available products.
• Evaluate IT and storage products and services.
• Prepare reports and provide status updates as needed.
• Represent the organization in interactions with other department and organizations.

3+ years experience in a technical support or IT specialist role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Must be Security+ certified (or hold equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II).  Must be able to obtain the Microsoft Certified Desktop Professional certification with six months of start date.  Experience developing and/or interpreting policies or procedures to ensure effective and efficient use of information systems.  Experience troubleshooting PKI token and Common Access Card issues.  Experience providing technical support to users of information technology services.  Must have extensive knowledge of IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices and experience in system administration for the planning, installing, configuring, optimizing, integrating and supporting systems utilizing Active Directory, Windows OS, network monitoring tools, PowerShell, vendor utilities, compliance scanner, vulnerability management tools, Host-based IDS, monitoring appliances, PKI infrastructure, Remote Desktop, remote access tools, other utilities and appliances that come available to assist in the administration and securing of network and stand-alone devices.  Able to resolve simple and routine problems, questions, or complaints and provide support and guidance to customers on non-routine issues; serve as a primary resource for customers, requesting assistance with complex issues when necessary; and participate in meetings and provide advice to customers as needed.  Able to demonstrate strong attention to detail, customer service skills, oral and written communication skills, and problem-solving capabilities.  Must be willing to travel occasionally.  May be required to work overtime or outside of normal duty hours (including emergency work, shift work).  May be designated as mission essential meaning on-site work may be required during severe weather or installation closings.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and discern color, contrast, and depth.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,200-$135,568. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
