Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Information Security (INFOSEC) Specialist to support cyber security programs for the Army at the Aberdeen Proving Ground.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cyber security services to protect information and information systems from unauthorized access and to protect the data within systems. 
  • Support the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) Cybersecurity Division which mandates roles, responsibilities, and procedures for the implementation of Army Cybersecurity Programs consistent with today’s technological advancements for achieving acceptable levels of security in engineering implementation, operation, and maintenance for Information Systems (IS) connecting to or crossing any U.S. Army managed network or system.
  • Army Cybersecurity Programs apply to information systems, including but not limited to: computers, processors, devices, or environments (operating in a prototype, testbed, stand-alone, integrated, embedded or networked configuration) that store, process, access or transmit data, including unclassified, sensitive, and classified data.
  • Ensure frequency assignments are designed for compatible use with other users of the radio frequency spectrum (for example: fixed station and mobile radio, radar, navigational aids, satellite links). 
  • Identify causes of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and mitigate the interference through appropriate channels.
  • Assign frequency allocations.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in a cyber security role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be Security+ certified (or hold equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II).  Extensive knowledge of IT security requirements combined with a broad knowledge of computer design, technology and application, gained through experience and training or education, is required in order to develop innovative methods, approaches and procedures in a highly technical field.  Experience with the radio frequency spectrum including fixed station and mobile radio, radar, navigational aids, and satellite links.  Experience identifying and mitigating the cause of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).  Able to demonstrate strong attention to detail, customer service skills, oral and written communication skills, and problem-solving capabilities.  Must be willing to travel occasionally.  May be required to work overtime or outside of normal duty hours (including emergency work, shift work).  May be designated as mission essential meaning on-site work may be required during severe weather or installation closings.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

 

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,200-$135,568. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
