Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Communications Administrator Lead to provide telecommunications support and leadership for the US Mint.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy communication services hardware and software including Avaya phone systems, AT&T network, and cable management.
  • Provide operations and administration of communication systems.
  • Work with public carriers to implement new or upgraded equipment.
  • Monitor capacity of switches, circuits, and Avaya systems.
  • Oversee upgrades and maintenance of switches.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and/or install sound and video equipment, and install and operate ancillary equipment such as projectors and laptop computers.
  • Train end users and managers on use of equipment and services.

Qualifications

15+ years experience in system engineering services for communication systems, with a focus on data, voice, and video applications.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Must hold the Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist (CTNS) certification.  Experience in the following areas: phone equipment (PBX/Analog and VoIP, servers) services; voice network; unified messaging; directory listing services; audio and data conferencing; fax services; cable management; call center and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services; video services; video conferencing; webcasting and streaming services; digital signage display equipment; and DirecTV.  Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.  Strong communications skills and the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen.
