Abacus Technology is seeking a Telephone Lineman to provide support for telephone and data equipment and services.  This is a full-time position at Kirtland AFB.

• Install and repairing aerial and underground communications lines and auxiliary equipment such as conduits, insulators, and poles.

2+ years experience installing and repairing telephone lines.  Must be BICSI Fiber and Copper certified.  Training or certification in Holocom, Wiremold, GPON, and OSHA Confined Space.  Knowledge of cable requirements and interface technology concepts, and theory.  Able to work from drawings, plans, specifications; perform skilled shop/field work in the maintenance and repair of telephone/data equipment; and keep records and write reports.  Knowledge of proper safety practices, procedures and regulations applicable to work being performed.  Capable of using a variety of tools and test equipment required for the installation and maintenance of telephone and data network services such as frequency data signal generators, digital test sets, protocol analyzers.  Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, meet with the customer tactfully and courteously, and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with customers and coworkers.  Must be a US citizen.
