Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator to provide network and infrastructure support for an enterprise level network at Fort Johnson.  This is a full-time position.

• Lead tasks and supervise staff in installing network hardware and software, and maintain day-to-day management and configuration control over LAN/WAN operations.
• Provide daily O&M, manage network performance, and maintain network security.
• Maintain the system by troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software problems; evaluate, and implement network policies and procedures to ensure there is conformance with information systems and organizational objectives.
• Ensure security procedures are implemented and enforced.
• Install network hardware and software; troubleshoot network problems; implement network policies, procedures and standards; and ensure systems are in conformance with organizational objectives.
• Train local users on network operations.
• Provide comprehensive management of the installation’s local area network (LAN) including installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the network.
• Utilize NetOps capabilities to execute Network Administration tasks, ensuring optimal network performance and robust security measures.
• Oversee the performance and security of the network, implement and enforce security procedures, and maintain adherence to organizational objectives.
• Install and configure network hardware and software, troubleshoot network issues, and implement network policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide training to local users on network operations as needed.
• Support SCIP, Fort Johnson Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations, training exercises, and compliance with DCWF Codes.

3+ years experience in a network administration or engineering role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be Security+ certified.  CCNA certification desired.  Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware and software in a multi-protocol environment and network management tools and software.  Must have experience with NETCOM’s Enterprise central management tools for networks, including but not limited to Cisco Prime, Infovista, NetCool, wireless protocols (802.11b/g/n/ac), and wireless authentication protocols such as WPA2 Enterprise, WPA3, EAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, and EAP-TTLS. Proficiency with Orion software (e.g., NPM, NetFlow, and virtualization) and a thorough understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, STP, CDP, HSRP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, TFTP, SNMP, IAS, VoIP, and 802.1x) is essential.  Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of IT equipment and systems design methods and familiarity with Network Management and Cyber Security approaches and requirements to recommend improvements, evaluate alternate configurations, and develop concepts for modifications and future systems.  Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
