Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an LMR Installer/NetOps Specialist to provide radio and communications systems support for Fort Johnson.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide radio maintenance and support including software security patches, updates, and password changes.
  • Maintain databases to track subscriber equipment used on the P-25 LMR system to include symphony dispatch consoles, desktop stations, mobile subscriber units, portable subscriber units and digital vehicle repeater system (DVRS) using Radio Personality Manager (RPM) or the most current programming software available.
  • Manage and maintain LMR equipment/systems and management terminals and consoles.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage risks associated with projects.
  • Translate requirements into new IT project specifications.
  • Create project plans for information technology development and testing.
  • Identify business or customer requirements and IT alternatives.
  • Recommend, install, configure, maintain, and upgrade all computer and networking software and hardware for use in an office, department, or small company.

Qualifications

3+ years experience providing LMR support.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be Security+ certified.  Training or certification on the ACE LMR system and subcomponents.  Knowledge and experience in the following: LMR equipment capabilities and compatibility of system configurations; Red Hat, Windows 2016 server, Cisco configuration files, as well as vender specific software applications; and in-depth understanding of Project (P)-25 trunking standards, FIPS 140-2 P-25 Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 and P-25 Common Air Interface.  Broad knowledge of operation for fixed and transportable transmitters, receivers, transceivers, antennas, digital narrowband radio trunking systems, amplitude and frequency modulation, and random frequency access as applicable to point-to-point communications.  Experience with equipment involving microwave radio, digital and analog multiplex equipment, receivers and transmitters, digital and analog receiver voting systems, timing/synchronization oscillator systems, simulcast control systems, computer control systems, TDM console switches, consoles, and mobile and portable radio equipment.  Able to lift/carry 30 lbs.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.  Able to deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
