Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator to provide network and infrastructure support for the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB).  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain diagrams of the network infrastructure and connectivity. 
  • Build and upgrade LANs and WANs. 
  • Perform capacity planning, configuration and version management, performance engineering, and troubleshooting. 
  • Develop, test, and implement new LAN/WAN applications and hardware. 
  • Identify, research, and resolve complex network problems or situations. 
  • Evaluate, test, and document network software releases and hardware upgrades. 
  • Provide Tier 3 support, including maintenance of data center network-related hardware, software, and network tools. 
  • Enforce network standards. 
  • Work with customer base to ensure reported problems are resolved or answered in a timely manner. 

Qualifications

4+ years experience in a network administration or engineering role.  Associate’s degree in a related field.  Cisco or MS Azure certifications desired.  Must be Security+ certified.  Knowledge of Azure, Active Directory, and Office 365.  Experience configuring, optimizing and maintaining Cisco network hardware including switches and firewalls.  Experience handling network security issues (viruses, malware, social engineering).  Experience performing network monitoring and using management tools such as Solarwinds and Cisco DNA center.  Experience providing IOS upgrades and applying DISA STIGs to network device hardware.  Must be a US citizen.
