Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Voice Network Administrator to provide network and infrastructure support for an enterprise level network at Fort Campbell.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration for computer-controlled telephony switching systems (TWS), Local Session Controller (LSC), Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Voice Gateways (VG350/VG450), VoSIP, Session Border Controllers (SBC), Unity Voice Mail administrator, and Video Teleconferencing (VTC).
  • Develop and direct the implementation of Unified Communications Systems (UC), including voice, facsimile, VTC and voice messaging.
  • Integrate voice and data networks.
  • Develop and recommend IT hardware and software for proposed standardized UC Communications Voice, VoSIP and VTC systems, new equipment configurations, interfaces, systems compatibility, and contingency interface requirements.
  • Operate, program, maintain, and monitor the Cisco Call Manager, VoIP, VoSIP and VTC Unified Communications Systems.
  • Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of switch operations to ensure successful call connectivity and integrity of voice, data, and video circuitry.
  • Test, troubleshoot, modify, analyze, and restore electronic equipment used in voice and data circuits.
  • Detect, locate, and repair malfunctions in the VoIP, VoSIP and VTC Unified Communications Systems while completing adds, moves, deletes, changes and modification of voice, data, and video circuits.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in a network administration or engineering role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be Security+ certified.  Must hold a Cisco certification or be able to obtain within six months of start date.  Experience with unified communications systems.  In-depth knowledge of fiber optic and copper transmission media, VoIP, Fiber and Copper Transport Mux, T-1, DS3, SONET, Ethernet data transfer capabilities, multiplexing equipment, power equipment, software and databases associated with (UC) equipment, and peripheral software features and equipment.  Experience with computers, networks, systems analysis, automated systems design, data system interfaces, system development cycles and concepts, and information processing standards and methods to identify operational/processing problems, evaluate alternative approaches, adapt precedents and procedures, and plan and implement or recommend resolution to resolve problems.  Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, switch and router configuration, PKI, and SSL.  Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties.  Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
