Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Database Administration Manager to provide database support for the DoE Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHHS).  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all activities related to EHSS Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database administration.
  • Perform analysis of database and storage requirements and develop data storage strategies.
  • Communicate with management, technical and development staff to evaluate database needs.
  • Develop and document requirements such as concurrent usage factors, data storage requirements, response rates and security requirements.
  • Project long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.

Qualifications

7+ years experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Oracle or MS Azure certification a plus.  Experience analyzing organizations’ database needs and developing long-term strategies for data storage.  Demonstrable experience establishing policies and procedures related to data security and integrity.  Experience monitoring and managing/limiting database access.  Experience overseeing the design, maintenance and implementation of the systems that manage an internal database.  Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.  Organized, attentive to detail, and willing to pursue resolutions to issues as they arise.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
