    Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator to provide technical support for the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Quantico.  This is a full-time position.


    Function as a senior technical expert for IT systems administration, including planning for, installing, and maintaining computer systems, including servers, storage area networks and network attached storage on five enclaves.  Perform performance monitoring and tuning, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, as well as troubleshooting and problem resolution.  Maintain enterprise servers including email, database, web, file and print and other servers.  Monitor enterprise services using network management platforms.  Manage configuration and baselines of servers, document and diagram configurations.  Develop and maintain schedules and plans for system updates and patching.  Manage Group Policy Objects. 


    10 years of experience in IT field, with at least 6 years of experience administering systems administration in a Windows based environment.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements).  Microsoft certification desired.  Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers with thorough knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Windows 2008 + operating systems, SCOM, WSUS, SCCM, Exchange 2007/2010.  Experience with SUN servers and Linux/Unix Servers.  Experience with Active Directory and GPO.  Experience with NetApp Data ONTAP 7.X and newer and NetApp Storage Area Network appliances.  Able to assess server infrastructure and configuration and identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.  Able to provide technical guidance and direction to junior and mid level system administrators and help desk technicians.  Extensive experience with security as it pertains to server infrastructure, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).  Experience with USAF IT environment and networks desired.  Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations.  Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a Top Secret clearance with a current SCI or SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
