Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Oracle Database Administrator to provide technical support for the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Quantico. This is a full-time position.
Create, install, configure, modify and tune databases on multiple networks. Administer and manage Oracle database management systems. Create and manage users and roles, assign permissions, conduct database capacity planning. Troubleshoot database problems, analyze causes and apply fixes. Conduct backup/restore of databases. Analyze and correct database performance issues. Conduct database performance monitoring. Assist with application server administration. Work closely with application developers. Maintain database configurations in accordance with security control, configuration management, release management requirements. Apply patches and upgrade DBMS. Apply security controls to harden database.
10 years of experience in IT field, with at least 6 years as Oracle Administrator for databases in Microsoft Windows and Unix environments. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be certified at IAT III or IAM III (e.g., CISSP or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements). Oracle database certification (e.g., Oracle Database 11g Certified Professional) desired. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database software. Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g databases. Experience with Oracle 12c desired. Experience with developer tools for Oracle Applications. Experience with the following technologies: PL/SQL; SQL; Oracle Database 10g and 11g. Experience with TomCat, Apache, FTP, batch files, and Windows scripting. Experience with SQL Server databases desired. Experience with USAF IT environment and networks desired. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize experience within database relationships using diagrams and explain how databases interact with one another. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a Top Secret clearance with current SCI access or eligibility (TS/SCI).
