Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide technical support for C2 radios at Shaw AFB. This is a full-time position.
Install, operate, maintain, administer and manage C2 radio systems hardware, software, applications and services to ensure services are operational and available with minimum interruption. Radio systems include, but are not limited to, Wide Area Voice Environment (WAVE), Combat Track II (CT-II), High Performance Wave (HPW), Iridium Ground Entry Point System (IGEPS), Joint Range Extension (JREAP-B and C), Transportable Aviation C2 Transmit Receive Shelter (TATR) and AN/PRC-112 equipment and associated switches, routers, encryption devices and cabling providing connectivity. Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support. Perform all technical support and O&M activities for radio systems. Install, configure, upgrade, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair radio system hardware (radios, servers, workstations and other devices) and software (OS and applications software and firmware). Manage and administer radio system servers and clients (e.g., WAVE), and user accounts, profiles and access. Monitor user access and adherence to established policies and procedures to ensure a secure operating environment. Monitor system performance, and detect and resolve problems. Evaluate current architecture, research current technologies/solutions; and provide systems hardware/software upgrade and replacement recommendations for end-of-life/end-of-support COTS products to government. Assist with the tracking and management of COTS licenses, warranties, service level agreements renewals for systems equipment and software. Coordinate with system program offices (or commercial vendors) and implement approved hardware/software changes, upgrades and enhancements, as directed by the Government. Update and maintain as-built radio equipment and systems (virtual and physical) configuration, connectivity, engineering and installation drawings, diagrams and documentation; and publish semi-annually. Develop and submit a C2 Radio Monthly Status Report and other ad hoc reports.
2+ years experience in supporting radio systems. Must be Security+ and Motorola WAVE Certified Integration Engineer (WCIE) certified. Experience with Combat Track II (CT-II), High Performance Waveform, Wide Area Voice Environment (WAVE), Radio over Internet Protocol servers and clients, and local and remote clients and servers. Significant experience with tactical and survival radios (e.g. AN/PRC 117-G, PRC-112). Experience with antennas and cabling, transceivers, GPS receivers, laptops, encryptors, and COMSEC. Experience supporting both the client and server-side for enterprise systems. Must have experience with hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting. Must be customer service oriented and able to demonstrate strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
