Abacus Technology is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support the infrastructure quality program at Fort Bragg. This is a full-time position.
Identify trends in workmanship and processes. Provide reporting and documentation as requested by Business and Operations branch Chief for processes, trends and evaluation. Maintain records and update databases, spreadsheets, charts and graphs as required. Provide suggested actions to improve processes, resolve defects in workmanship, or guide construction efforts towards successful completion to the NEC Government Project Manager. Recognize and report safety hazards to appropriate authorities. Perform system testing for Outside Plant and Inside Plant Cabling and report test results to the NEC Project Manager. Read and interpret test results for OSP and ISP cabling systems on request to the NEC Project manager. Assist in arranging meetings to conduct inspections, reviews and surveys pertaining to communications construction with Department of Public Works, United States Army Corp. of Engineers and Fort Bragg NEC. Assess internal documentation and processes, conduct surveys to improve system documentation and support communications planning and design efforts. Draft long and short range IT technical documents for Government approval and assist the Government in maintaining them. Draft IT technical documents that codify NEC requirements and higher authority policies/guidelines. Assist the Government with developing the NEC’s IT Strategic Plan by integrating organizational input and documentation; and assist the Government in revising and maintaining these plans. Assist the Government in studying proposed actions to expand existing Land Warrior Network (LandWarNet) infrastructure, and evaluating requirements. Recommend improvements and enhancements. Analyze program developments and conduct studies within the NEC to provide recommendations on requirements to the Government to ensure compliance with policies and Strategic Plans. Draft product instructions, reference and maintenance manuals, installation guides, training materials, and technical reports. Edit, standardize, or revise material prepared by other writers or personnel. Prepare rough drafts of publications for review with the project staff and/or customers and prepare layout of material for distribution.
3+ years experience in an infrastructure support role. Must hold BICSI Installer Level 2 Fiber and Copper certifications or be able to obtain within six months of hire date. Must have a mastery level of expertise for Outside Plant, Inside Plant, Data Switches, Premise Cable construction, and WLAN. Proficient in cable testing and operation of test equipment associated with all cable systems testing. Knowledge of Army Installation Criteria and associated Technical Guides such as the I3A, UFC, NFC, TG, and IDC. Must be familiar with the following specifications: TIA/EIA 568 Commercial Building Cabling Standards; NEC 2017, NFPA 70, 800 Articles or current edition of the NEC and NFPA 800 Articles; IEEE 802 wireless standards; and BICSI ITSM (Information Transport Systems Installation Methods Manual Current Edition). Must have outstanding oral communication and customer service skills. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
