Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain hardware and software including PCs and servers for Fort Bragg. This is a full-time position.
Provide support, integration, operation, and maintenance of the current Army approved versions for the following system management products, services, and capabilities on both the unclassified and classified network. Work closely with Fort Bragg Active Directory staff to sustain user systems and services (e.g., provide instruction, guidance, and industry best practices). Support the government within the administration of the top level organizational unit (OU) that supports operations in Microsoft Active Directory locally under the guidance of AD managers at 7th. Recommend continual service improvement of network operations (NETOPS) through service reports, dashboards and output from service review meetings. Assist the Government in understanding the types of service that will provide the best installation support; recommend strategies and services that enable a consistent, repeatable approach to be defined through the support of information collection that includes trouble tickets, conference calls, request for information, etc. Operate and maintain a thin client architecture in accordance with the Army approved products list. Document service interruption to include date and time, total service interruptions, problem, corrective actions, and preventative recommendations. Coordinate with the government related to scheduled and unscheduled downtime to ensure minimal impact or disruption. Perform routine preventative maintenance on servers and other related hardware and provide a written evaluation report. Maintain sufficient free space on the servers to allow successful disk file maintenance and backup. Install and maintain Government-provided backup software. Monitor NEC server's system resources like CPU Usage, Memory Consumption, I/O, Network, Disk Usage, Process etc. Identify and resolve all potential problem areas. Prioritize and complete work orders as prescribed by the AESD. Log all relevant incident/servicer request details that will inform the proper categorization and prioritization. Provide proactive analysis of incident records and data collected will identify trends that help to predict future failures. Troubleshoot and resolve all server/system hardware and software problems within the C4IM service standards or SLA requirements. Coordinate with the equipment vendor or original manufacturer as needed. Restore the customer’s data within 12 work hours; or, if unable to do so, the Contractor shall recommend alternative solutions keeping the customer informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages. Create, update, or delete public folders, including permissions and other configuration settings.
6+ years experience in systems administration. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified. Must hold an MCITP: Windows Server 2012 or be able to obtain within six months of hire. Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience working in a physical and virtual environment. Extensive experience with the following tools and technologies: Microsoft Windows Server; Windows Active Directory; Metadata Directory Services; Microsoft Cluster Services; Microsoft SQL (Clustered); Microsoft Windows Server Internet Information Services (IIS); Microsoft SharePoint; BMC Remedy/ITSM Action Request System; McAfee Anti-Virus; Veritas NetBackup; Archive Storage Solution, Veeam, VMWare vSphere. Must be proficient in all aspects of the system life cycle and have an understanding of large-scale system development. Experience developing enterprise-wide architecture, overseeing detailed design, planning, purchase, installation, and support of enterprise scale storage and computing resources. Able to adapt to the customer environment and develop an understanding of the business. Able to analyze complex inputs and translate data into well-defined system requirements. Comfortable interacting heavily with clients and end users to assess current state of systems and architecture, as well as future needs. Attitude, adaptability, and ability to learn are paramount. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
