Abacus Technology is seeking a Voice Network Engineer to provide Unified Communications and Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) support for Fort Bragg. This is a full-time position.
Provide telephony and SONET transport services; including, continuing on-site network support services to support NEC in performing wireless network support, network systems upgrades, network systems configuration system support, network system operational support and network problem logging and troubleshooting. Install and configure networking equipment such as Fujitsu SONET switches, Avaya CS2100/CS1000 VOIP/TDM switches, Callegra call management systems, Cisco Unified Call Manager and telephone firewalls and telephone firewalls. Diagnose and resolve networking problems associated with Fujitsu SONET switches, Avaya CS2100/CS1000 VOIP/TDM switches, Callegra call management systems, Cisco Unified Call Manager and telephone firewalls and SecureLogix telephone firewalls. Administer Cisco proprietary platforms (bridge, gatekeeper, MPS) to include troubleshooting software and hardware issues. Administer TMS (Tandberg Management Suite). Conduct routine maintenance including patching, firmware updates and software upgrades. Adhere to and monitor compliance with all relevant Army/NEC VTC policies and procedures. Support the administration of VTC endpoints. Configure data network encryption devices such as, TACLANE 175 D model, TACLANE 175A, TACLANE 245A, and KIV 7M. Develop, implement, and assess network security measures and promote IT and network security control measures, practices, and techniques. Perform network security support. Process all applicable service requests IAW CIO/G6 C4IM service list.
6+ years experience in a voice or telecommunications administration or engineering role. Must be Security+ certified. Must be CCNA-Voice or Collaborations certified or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire date. Hands-on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers). Experience with network implementation and maintenance. Must be proficient in current SONET switches, Avaya CS2100/CS100 Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP)/TDM switches, Callegra call management systems, Cisco Unified Call Manager and telephone firewalls. Proficient with Tandberg VTC administration interfaces via web browser. Able to maintain current knowledge and skills through in-services, workshops, and/or seminars. Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties. Experience leading teams to accomplish daily tasks and long term projects. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
