  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Support Engineer to provide network and infrastructure support for an enterprise level network at Fort Bragg.  This is a full-time position.

    Responsibilities

    Install and configure various Brocade and/or Cisco Network Routing/Switching devices.  Create and maintain Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) in support of Layer2 requirements.  Plan, prepare, implement, install, operate and maintain network connectivity to the Fort Bragg (ICAN).  Update and apply Cisco/Brocade operating system patches and software enhancements.  Apply and maintain appropriate Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configurations for various Cisco/Brocade Network Switching Devices.  Install and configure General Dynamics Keying Generator (KG-175D) and/or KG-175A/G network encryption devices to include updating Communications Security (COMSEC) keys.  Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair any network issues or problems related to network connectivity to include associated VLAN, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), or Virtual Protocol Label Switching (VPLS) related problems.  Attend working groups and architectural design meetings for proposed changes to the network architecture on Fort Bragg.  Make recommendations and propose change to improve network performance of the network on Fort Bragg.

    Qualifications

    6+ years experience in a network administration role.  Must be Security+ certified.  Must be BCNE or CCNA certified or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.  Hands-on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers).  Experience with network implementation and maintenance.  Knowledge of Cisco or Brocade routers and switches.  Familiar with VLANs and VPLS.  Experience with STIGs and COMSEC equipment.  Able to maintain current knowledge and skills through in-services, workshops, and/or seminars.  Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties.  Experience leading teams to accomplish daily tasks and long term projects.  Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
