  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking an Acquisition Management Specialist to support acquisition and sustainment management for the U.S. Air Force.  This is a full-time position at Los Angeles Air Force Base.

    Responsibilities

    Support strategic communications planning activities for SMC/RS to include sustainment activities.  Develop and maintain a strategic communications plan on a continual basis to gather, maintain, retrieve and distribute information; measure, forecast, approve, present/report performance; and manage internal and external stakeholders.  Prepare reports, papers, correspondence, and briefings in accordance with Government guidelines and regulations.  Maintain appointment calendars and conference room schedules, schedule meetings and conferences including those involving staff from outside the immediate office; answer telephones, forward messages, and provide responses to routine queries; act as Travel Clerk and perform Defense Travel System functions on behalf of travelers IAW the Defense Travel Administrator’s Manual; assist in coordinating, consolidating, analyzing, distributing and monitoring action items, suspenses and responses; provide inputs and recommendations regarding administrative and office management processes and procedures; and prepare agendas, reports and briefings for staff meetings.  Record the results of all activities to support the program and provide to the Government lead(s) upon request.  Provide both external and internal communications support to enhance interfaces critical and important to the directorate’s mission and relationship within the enterprise.  Assist the Directorate in establishing the OPIR Enterprise brand.  Assist with internally communicating the Director’s intent/vision, and plan/coordinate/execute Directorate level organizational events.  Develop/write speeches for the Director and create/edit/publish Internal OPIR Media.  Act as the organizational historian documenting and archiving Directorate history, tradition, and culture.  Develop and implement external communications, and public relation strategies for the Director’s approval.  Provide support for: community/media relations; conducting media surveillance (local/national media, trade/defense publications) and collecting/disseminating information to the Director and his or her staff; providing Remote Sensing education, as well as outreach presentations and static displays which can be tailored to media request.

    Qualifications

    5+ years experience in acquisitions and sustainment for Federal government programs.  Master’s degree in a related field.  Must be able to work closely with technical teams and government program managers with equal efficiency.  Experience with MS Office.   Must be highly motivated and assertive.  Communication and organizational skills are critical.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
