Abacus Technology is seeking an Acquisition Management Specialist to support acquisition and sustainment management for the U.S. Air Force. This is a full-time position at Los Angeles Air Force Base.
Evaluate program solicitation documentation, such as acquisition strategy, systems engineering plan, IMP, IMS, and CDRLs for adherence to policy/guidance; consistency in implementation of its acquisition strategy, technical approach/requirements, acquisition policy/guidance, milestones, forecasts, and risk assessment; and realism in achieving a product suitable for the war-fighter within cost/schedule/performance constraints. Recommend program acquisition strategies and perform market research. Develop and provide multiple options for Government consideration to achieve a Government identified goal or set of goals. Identify the required resources and schedule to implement each of the Government identified strategies. Advise and assist the Government in organizing and establishing the Integrated Product Teams for each major product or work area in the Work Breakdown Structure. Identify, collect, organize, compile, and assimilate cost, schedule, performance, and programmatic acquisition information to document program planning and execution. Draft, review, coordinate, and process program acquisition and sustainment information suitable for public release to industry, media, trade publications, international partners, and other program stakeholders. Analyze the Government Program Management Plan to provide insight into program execution performance and recommend improvements. Continuously assess whether the program plan is on track to achieve the goal, notify the Government of discrepancies between the program plan and actual progress, and upon request, identify multiple options to correct the discrepancies. Act as liaison between auditors and program personnel. Review all audit requests, distribute requests to cognizant program office personnel, and establish task timelines. Collect and consolidate briefing charts for the weekly Directorate Staff Meeting into a single presentation; distribute that consolidated presentation to attendees in advance of the meeting; facilitate and administer the meetings to assure presentations fit within the time allotted; develop, distribute, obtain approval, and publish/archive meeting minutes; and document, distribute, track to closure, and archive action items. Prepare presentation materials, special technical reports, and papers as requested, and provide the Government with copies of all materials presented at the meetings.
5+ years experience in acquisitions and sustainment for Federal government programs. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be able to work closely with technical teams and government program managers with equal efficiency. Experience with MS Office. Must be highly motivated and assertive. Communication and organizational skills are critical. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
