Abacus Technology is seeking a COMSEC Technician to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified and unclassified information across government networks and systems. This is a full-time position.
Support the processes and procedures for protecting traffic on communications networks, including voice, video, and data, and is used for both analog and digital applications, and both wired and wireless links. Safeguard government provided encryption products and keying materials in accordance with EKMS-1. Oversee the deployment of equipment (configure, installing, cabling, keying) to include new projects, and tech refresh, for crypto connected to NMCI, including equipment under Government safeguard. Manage and monitor active encryption devices (in-network or accessed from outside the network) utilizing authorized management monitoring tool(s). Operate and maintain Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment and material. Support inventory control of all COMSEC material in accordance with Government guidelines. Provide guidance to the customer and program management teams on all matters pertaining to COMSEC. Communicate requirements for access to COMSEC material. Perform routine destruction of COMSEC material. Support COMSEC emergency action procedures and incident reporting requirements. Audit and inspect COMSEC accounts.
6+ years experience supporting COMSEC equipment and material. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified. Proficiency in performing COMSEC account management. Demonstrated experience managing Electronic Key Management Systems (EKMS) and managing the configuration, deployment, repair, key exchange, and order tracking of cryptographic equipment. Familiarity with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI). Experience utilizing Government authorized cryptographic key management monitoring tools. Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current TS/SCI with CI Poly.
