  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking a System Engineer to provide technical support for the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Hanscom AFB.  This is a full-time position.

    Responsibilities

    Conceptualize, acquire, and field aerial layer networking capabilities to support legacy, current, in-development, future and proposed systems across all domains of information exchange.  Provide engineering support for the development, preparation and delivery of compliant technical deliverables for the planning, demonstration, development, delivery and deployment of JALN High Capacity Backbone (HCB) capability.  Support the development, demonstration, acquisition, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation of the HCB capability.  Providing support in the following areas: link 16, Common Data Link systems, change control, data management, decision analysis, design analysis, manufacturing, technical assessment, technology transition, cost estimates, requirements analysis, verification and validation, and risk management.

    Qualifications

    5+ years experience in a system engineering role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Experience with Tactical Data Networks (TDN), Tactical Data Links (TDL), Link 16, and Joint Aerial Layer Networking (JALN).  Experience with Link 16 modernization.  Experience with network design and deployment.  Experience working on each stage of the system development life cycle from initiation through deployment/sustainment.  Demonstrated proficiency with process modeling and developing workflow diagrams.  Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns.  Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.  Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards.  Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations.  Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff.  Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
