Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Network Specialist to oversee network activities to Andrews AFB. This is a full-time position.
Oversee the architecting of emerging technologies including developing and submitting recommendations for new or modified configurations for architecture to incorporate emerging technologies, new releases, support center maintenance, or requirements into the environment. Oversee the providing of architecture support for LAN/WAN related operational problem analysis and resolution. Provide design, engineering, and architect support to manage the WAN infrastructure including technical requirements analysis, traffic modeling, IP address administration, design and implementation of network security, and conducting performance analysis and management.
7+ years experience in network design and administration in a network/voice support environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) – Voice or Collaboration certification required. Must be Security+ certified. Experience in all phases of the engineering lifecycle including: requirements; architecture; design; implementation; testing; and operations and maintenance. Advanced understanding of enhanced 911 systems, DISA Unified Capabilities Requirements, and Time Division Multiplexing. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Able to provide technical guidance and direction to team members and lower level technicians. Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies. Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution. Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
