Abacus Technology is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide technical support for the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson AFB. This is a full-time position.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment. Train end users as necessary. Identify, analyze, and repair product failures. Order and replace parts as needed. Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs.
6-8 years experience in a technical support role. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must hold at least one of the following certifications: A+ CE, Network+ CE, and/or CCNA-Security. Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing computer hardware. Familiarity with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office software functionality. Must be able to install software and debug failed software installs. Must be able to lift computer and monitor hardware for installations. Capable of diagnosing printer problems (mainly consumable replacements or paper jams). Able to work with the software and hardware inventory team. Able to act in a professional manner as the face of the Help Desk organization to the end customer. Understanding of Windows Active Directory. Knowledge of networking is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
