Abacus Technology is seeking a Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician to provide network and VTC support at Joint Base Langley-Eustis. This is a full-time position.
Strategize, design, develop, document and maintain application, system, and network architectural designs for interoperability of Air Force and Department of Defense systems. Ensure local ACC CSS VTC network system applications optimum configuration. Apply upgrades and patches to the VTC suite. Install upgrades and apply patches to all components of the VTC suite. Provide systems administrator and network support, consulting and guidance to ACC CSS ensuring all engineering aspects for new/existing network application are identified. Analyze existing environment and provide recommendations for load balancing, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies. Provide plans for scalability for ACC CSS VTC architecture and analyze constraints on scalability. Maintain overall network integrity/uniformity across all ACC bases utilizing Langley VTC Bridge [i.e. IP/VLAN structure, etc.]. Provide high-level technical expertise to accomplish analysis of options and development of the design for advanced networks and/or VTC systems. Perform systems analysis related to engineering functions and networks
10+ years experience providing VTC Support for an enterprise-level environment. Must be Security+ certified. Experience with Polycom or Cisco bridge equipment. Must have working knowledge of network protocols (H.323, E164, SIP) and USAF network firewalls. Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Comfortable initiating, providing operational support for, and closing out conferences for high level executives. Able to act in a professional manner, provide excellent customer service, and handle multiple priorities. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
