  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking a Software Developer to provide full life cycle application support for various government contracts.  This is a full-time position.

    Responsibilities

    Lead the effort to analyze and define functional system requirements, including the development of workflow diagrams.  Design software applications and build applications through reuse/reengineering, the tailoring of COTS packages, and/or programming in third and fourth generation languages.  Apply Agile-like methodologies for defining business requirements, building a backlog, and developing iteratively.  Document, test, and debug programs and implement system enhancements.  Support operational system demonstrations and user training sessions.  Interact with the technical support team to ensure applications run seamlessly in existing environments. 

    Qualifications

    5 years experience in system analysis and software development.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Extensive experience with each stage of the software development and project life cycle.  Experience with MS .NET languages including ASP.Net and VB.Net, and experience with Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and Jira.  Familiarity with ColdFusion and related tools.  In-depth knowledge of back end development including specific experience with MS SQL Server.  Familiarity with CMMI best practices.  Able to interact with customers and end users to identify and document requirements.  Familiar with project management documentation and able to assist in project planning.  Willing and able to adapt to a customer’s environment and learn the necessary tools/languages/applications to make a project successful.  Must be a US citizen.
