  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking a Facilities Engineer/Manager to provide professional engineering services in support of facility management, maintenance, and operation.  This is a full-time position.

    Responsibilities

    Provide engineering services in support of facility management, maintenance, and operation.  Interact with other contractors, government personnel, vendors, and other NGA personnel to coordinate and accomplish major facility improvements and alterations, as well as oversee and support facilities operations.  Support NGA facility operations primarily CONUS with the potential for performance in the CENTCOM AOR.  Prepare and monitor construction and maintenance projects in support of NGA’s operations.  Develop and implement various engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates and designs for operations, maintenance and support requirement to maintain NGA facilities.  Direct/conduct studies involving multi-disciplinary engineering programs for facility modifications, operation and maintenance, and construction; conduct engineering studies related to developing specialized facilities with unique standards; validate instructions for facility operations, maintenance, and repairs. 

    Qualifications

    12+ years experience in facilities or construction engineering.  Master's degree in  Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.  Additional experience in a related field may be substituted for degree requirements.  Registration and license as a professional engineer is desired.  Experience with building or facility plans, and designing, configuring, and maintaining equipment. Knowledge of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Uptime Institute Data Center, ASHRAE and NEC standards.  Knowledge of building electrical and HVAC systems.  Strong verbal and written communication abilities; understanding of DoD engineering procedures and policies; ability to analyze organizational and operational problems including resolution analysis; strong leadership skills, including leading multidisciplinary teams; strong multi-tasking skills are also necessary for this support.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access and a polygraph.
