  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking a Program/Contract Manager to lead and manage a technical support team supporting the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) at Edwards AFB.  This is a full-time position.

    Responsibilities

    Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.  Oversee an experienced team in the management and support for enterprise-level infrastructure.  Provide effective leadership and strong management to drive organizational excellence and reach full performance potential by optimizing the output of people, processes, and tools.  Work with government customers to identify needs or opportunities for improvement, plan and implement large scale projects with no impact to daily operations.  Provide oversight for a variety of tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.  Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing services and products.  Provide assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and communications operations, data control, operating systems programming, and IT/Cyber security administration, policy, and procedures.  Act as the site manager for all team personnel including interviewing, hiring, timekeeping, evaluations, mentoring, personnel corrective actions, and representing Abacus to the customer.

    Qualifications

    10+ years IT Service Management experience in a technical role including supervisory or team lead.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Must be PMP certified.  Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification and experience is a plus.  Must have a strong technical support background and be familiar with service desk, telephone, video teleconference, specialized systems, multi-core workstations, desktop/laptop, field services, knowledge management, application support, software (media and license library, testing, etc.) and system engineering.  Experience leading a technical team in an enterprise-level environment and comfortable providing direction and guidance to others.  Experience with DoD systems and military protocols preferred.  Able to provide clear and concise directions to staff regarding project execution.  Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance.
