Abacus Technology is seeking a Deployment Engineer to support the Air Force Network (AFNet) Systems program office under the Air Force Cyber Defense (ACD); Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate for the Engineering and Technology Acquisition Support Services (ETASS) program at Hanscom AFB. This is a full-time position.
Design, install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and deploy systems/networks. Develop and implement technical strategies to deploy and integrate systems/networks. Translate user requirements into technical infrastructure requirements. Design and sustain systems by analyzing user requirements, CONOPS, system architectures, and training requirements to develop system specifications, architecture and design docs; and guiding system development/modernization by preparing engineering and system integration docs. Maintain production, test, integration, development, and training environments. Manage hardware/software infrastructure; including storage, enterprise backup, VMWare, system monitoring solutions, training/SIM best practices, etc. Provide technical guidance and review as needed. Validate hardware/software integration strategies, perform tuning and optimization, implement and troubleshoot patches on IT systems. Collaborate with vendors on product integration. Assist with installation, configuration, fielding, testing, integration, and troubleshooting of current and future hardware/software apps. Address technical problems associated with hardware/software and provide proactive support and mission-critical operational risk assessment support to Air Force operators at various locations. Analyze technical and integration requirements and develop effective technical solutions in Technical Requirement Document (TRD). Support all deployments.
5+ years experience in systems/network engineering. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must hold, or be able to obtain, the Security+ certification. Experience with troubleshooting and design for enterprise level IT programs. Familiar with IT/network topologies and security systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be committed to continuous learning and have the ability to work/lead in a team environment. Experience with DoD/USAF acquisition program is desired. Must be a US citizen.
