Abacus Technology is seeking Systems/Deployment Engineer to provide full life cycle support for enterprise systems under the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate of the ETASS program at Hanscom AFB. This is a full-time position.
Design, install, configure, administer, operate, monitor and troubleshoot ENFAAS at base boundaries. Support deployment of network boundary equipment and provide systems engineering support for ENFAAS including, but not limited to, technical documentation review, IT boundary configuration and testing and technical support for Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), Bluecoat Security Analytics Full Packet Capture systems, HP switches, Cisco routers, Arcsight SIEM & related network security devices (ENFAAS devices). Work with a team to build and maintain various OSs used in production, staging, test and development environments. Support development of web applications, manage infrastructure servers and systems, including enterprise backup, storage, VMWare, anti-virus, authentication, Active Directory, system monitoring solutions, etc. Create and maintain servers, build virtual servers and manage backup systems. Provide technical guidance and review as needed. Validate hardware/software implementation strategies, perform tuning and optimization, implement and troubleshoot patches on various IT systems. Author, test, troubleshoot, and publish TCTOs. Assist network operators to configure/manage ENFAAS devices. Solicit technical feedback and ensure configuration control of NGFW devices, FPC systems & SEIM architectures. Translate operational requirements into hardware and software specifications. Develop and execute use cases and various technical product reviews. Ensure all functional requirements are successfully acquired, validated, and tested. Support generation, review, approval and implementation of change mods. Provide systems engineering iso IT system definition, integration, test, maintenance, and security certification/accreditation.
5+ years experience in system administration or system engineering role. Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, or Engineering. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Must have experience with troubleshooting; systems engineering; network boundary upgrade planning and documentation; designing, implementing, operating and maintaining large scale enterprise IT/Network Topologies/Security systems; working in DoD/USAF Acquisition Program Offices; working with leading edge network products, military comms, IT Networking and NetOps standards/technology; and technical writing. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong commitment to continuous learning and ability to work/lead in a team environment. Must be a US citizen.
