Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide support for large scale systems, major system elements, and/or interfacing systems. This is a full-time position.
DULUTH EIT SERVICES: Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program. Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.
Provide overall system engineering expertise in the architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design and/or implementation, or testing for the program. Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications. Develop detailed system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Develop system configuration documentation, including detailed designs for capacity planning, security systems, and disaster recovery. Function as subject matter expert to solve difficult and challenging Tier III help desk problems.
2+ years experience in a full life cycle systems engineering role including architecture, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation. At least 1 year experience supporting NSA, CIA, DIA, NGA, and/or NRO. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT-2 or higher certification required. Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, and/or ITIL v3 highly desirable. Experience in the following: Solaris and Linux; Solaris, Linux and Windows utilities and techniques to diagnose and correct performance bottlenecks. Significant experience in the following: designing complex collection systems; integrating systems using multiple operating systems; performing trade-off studies; and/or systems performance analysis. Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell. Knowledge of NetApp, NetApp Operations Manager, Cisco VMWare Vsphere, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft SCOM, Tivoli, NetApp SnapMirror, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft VBScript, Microsoft PowerShell, Maxim, and Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in Agile development methodology preferred. Knowledge of CA Application Performance Management (CA APM), Nagios, What’s Up Gold, Zenoss, or Solar Winds a plus. Experience with communications and information security policies and practices. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
