Abacus Technology is seeking a Database Analyst/Programmer to support database administration and management in an enterprise environment. This is a full-time position.
DULUTH EIT SERVICES: Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program. Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.
Define, review, evaluate, manage, organize, design and maintain company database(s) and conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Design, implement, and maintain complex databases. Maintain database dictionaries and integration of system. Develop long-range requirements for database administration and design. Prepare activity and progress reports regarding database management. Estimate resource and staffing impacts of implementation alternatives. Assign technical support team staff members to database management initiatives. Assure that database information can be shared, understood, accessed and is accurate. Assess customer requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations. Advise customer on issues regarding full life cycle or data from design to production to maintenance, and including conversion, migration, translation, and data quality assurance. Advise and assist on establishing and implementing administrative policies and procedures, on technical problems, on priorities, and on methods.
Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-3 years), mid (3-6 years), junior (7-10 years), senior (11-14 years), and principal (15+ years). Bachelor’s in a related field; Master’s degree preferred for principal-level position. Experience with projecting long-range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers. Experience managing/leading databases on classified networks and a working knowledge about geospatially enabled database requirements. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize experience within database relationships using diagrams and explain how databases interact with one another. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
