Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator/Engineer to install, configure, and maintain network equipment in support of business processing requirements. This is a full-time position.
DULUTH EIT SERVICES: Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program. Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.
Evaluate current systems and perform software installations and upgrades to network operating system. Schedule installations and upgrades, including planning, scheduling, testing, and coordination, and maintaining them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor and tune the network to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensure network integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware changes and solutions. Ensure network redundancy and recoverability by reducing single points of failure. Work on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Plan large-scale network projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Conduct network architecture assessments. Assist and advise government with technical design support to network acquisition specifications, design, proof-concept prototyping, development and evaluation of network management system. Provide assistance to network engineering staff and assisting users with issues related to network access. Manage and upgrade multiple systems.
Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-3 years), mid (3-6 years), junior (7-10 years), senior (11-14 years), and principal (15+ years). Bachelor’s degree in a related field;Master’s degree preferred for principal-level position. Experience with network administration in a mixed vendor, e.g., Cisco or Juniper environment. Able to maintain integrity of the network environment, perform network administration setup, coordinate bandwidth and connectivity management and monitor and maintain continuity with maintenance agreement. Experience developing enterprise-wide architecture, overseeing detailed design, planning, purchase, installation and support of enterprise scale network resources. Able to provide vision and strategic direction to influence decision makers and lead technical resources. Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
