  • Overview

    Abacus Technology is seeking a Project/Program Manager to provide support at the project and contract level for a range of IT services.  This is a full-time position.

     

    DULUTH EIT SERVICES:  Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program.  Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.

    Responsibilities

    Lead a team on large projects or significant segment of large complex projects.  Analyze new and complex project related problems and creates innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and solution components.  Act as a single point of contact for the management team and clients.  Interact heavily with the government management and the end user to identify business needs and recommend technical solutions.  Prepare long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities.  Identify resources necessary, assign tasks to team, and monitor progress.  Oversee all aspects of the project life cycle.  Coordinate day-to-day project management and oversight with next level management and/or technical leads.  Provide quality assurance oversight to work items, processes, and deliverables.  Enforce change management principles for task.  Maintain project management documentation and apply project management best practices throughout all project phases.  Promote and emphasize continuous process improvement and operating efficiency.

    Qualifications

    10+ years experience including extensive experience in a project or program management role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or ITIL certifications considered a plus.  Must have a background in leading technical tasks and performing project management functions according to the complete project life cycle.  Must be able to work closely with technical teams and government program managers with equal efficiency.  Experience with MS Project or similar tool.  Knowledge of earned value management and analysis a plus.  Must be highly motivated and assertive.  Excellent communication skills, proactive management style, and the ability to manage customer and other stakeholder expectations.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
