Abacus Technology is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to perform systems and infrastructure engineering tasks related to program development, delivery and sustainment activity. This is a full-time position.
DULUTH EIT SERVICES: Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program. Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.
Perform systems and infrastructure engineering tasks related to program development, delivery and sustainment activities. Support infrastructure and architectural design. Review, edit, and document all modifications or enhancements to the infrastructure. Lead the configuration design, integration, and installation of complex, large scale computer environments.
6+ years experience in systems engineering, integration and test, infrastructure design, software engineering or related engineering disciplines. Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Associates' degree and 10 years of related experience or HS diploma and 14 years of related experience may be substituted. Must have an in-depth understanding of compute technologies, environments, and datacenters and their engineering integration into mission system designs. Experience in a team lead or management role. Experience in installation, configuration, integration and troubleshooting of COTS products. Experience with engineering scripts in PERL, Python and Ruby. Knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows environments and their application to engineering designs. Knowledge of build automation. Knowledge of ISP/ASP models as they relate to engineering service delivery. Proven ability to troubleshoot configuration problems on complex systems. Experience with VMware. Hands-on experience with Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest. Experience with cloud technology a plus. Individuals should be knowledgeable of systems and software engineering fundamentals as well as how to apply these to the design of computer, storage, and networking utilizing automation and virtualization technologies. Experience with COTS infrastructure software products (operating systems, virtualization environments, network services, and enterprise management solutions). Understanding of security hardening, COTS hardware and software management/integration, and engineering deployment and transition methods. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
