    Abacus Technology is seeking a Business Analyst provide operational support and analysis.  This is a full-time position.


    DULUTH EIT SERVICES:  Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program.  Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.


    • Assist the government with operations.
    • Assist the government with budget analysis.
    • Support government representatives at meetings.
    • Ensure cohesive agency-wide program development.
    • Assist with resource management oversight.
    • Develop detailed financial statements, audits, and reporting.
    • Strategic Planning – Identify opportunities in data sets and create and implement data driven strategies for identifying items of interest.
    • Modeling – Design and implement statistical/predictive models and algorithms using diverse sources of data to enable predictive analysis.
    • Analysis – Use analytic applications to identify trends and relationships from different strategies.
    • Reporting and Visualization – Develop tools and reports that help users access and analyze data.
    • Communications – Communicate progress and results clearly and effectively, orally and in writing. Contribute to design, document, and support of new or existing software and tools that enable analysis of large and complex data, such as financial data in NGA’s GEOF. Effectively apply tools to improve the efficiency of data retrieval, analysis, and presentation.


    5+ years experience in a business analyst role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Software experience with SQL queries or similar data query experience.  Experience with predictive analytics algorithms, such as Linear Models, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Bayesian Methods, and Ensemble Techniques.  Experience with Data Modeler software.  Experience with Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining.  Experience using data analytics.  Experience with IBM SPSS text analytics (Modeler Premium) Software.  Experience any of the following a plus: Palantir software, SQL Server Reporting Services, MS SharePoint programming, and/or HP ArcSight.  Must be proficient in MS Excel.  Must be a fast learner with good analytical skills, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to one’s duties and responsibilities.  Able to work in a team environment.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
