Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Project Manager to oversee tier II and III support services for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) OneNet program.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Manage the entire engineering operational Tier II/III support services including monitoring network utilization, conducting trend analysis for various network traffic areas, performing data collection for input to the network capacity planning, manage problem briefs and ticket status reports, monitor and adjust the IP Quality of Service queue allocations, review of software monitoring tools, change and configuration management support.  Facilitate the service transition of core infrastructure and services into the operational environment.

Qualifications

7+ years experience in network performance engineering and network management including 3+ years experience providing project management for a WAN.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must hold the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications.  ITIL certification highly desirable.  Experience in all phases of the engineering life cycle including: requirements; architecture; design; implementation; testing; and operations and maintenance.  Thorough knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls.  Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.  Able to provide technical guidance and direction to team members and lower level technicians.  Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies.  Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.  Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and desktops in an enterprise organization.  Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).  Experience managing technical teams.  Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner.  Previous experience supporting DHS highly desirable.  Must be a US citizen.
