Abacus Technology is seeking a PC Hardware Support Specialist to provide Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote supports for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. This is a full-time position.
DULUTH EIT SERVICES: Abacus Technology is hiring immediately for a recently-awarded large, long-term program. Full Scope Polygraph is required. Abacus has been selected as a subcontractor to provide regional enterprise IT services and devices to the end-user workforce of a large Government agency located across the Northeastern United States. IT Services include campus area networks and local area networks supporting end user desktop/laptop/tablet, phone, printers, copiers, and wireless devices. DULUTH interacts with a Global Service Desk and provides data and status for regional enterprise services.
Conduct sites surveys. Assess and document current site configuration and user requirements. Analyze existing requirements and prepares specifications for hardware acquisitions. Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages. Develop hardware installation schedules. Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site. Prepare site installation and test reports. Configure computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment. Train site personnel in proper use of hardware. Build specialized interconnecting cables. Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling. Maintain government and/or vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexer, fiber optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systems. Update technical drawings using AutoCAD software as needed. Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify end user devices such as personal computers, thin-clients, network interface cards, phones, monitors, printers, telephones, printers, pagers, and radios. Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on devices, integrated systems and subsystems, and install/configure software at customer and/or field locations. Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to end user equipment hardware and software. Ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.
4-7 years experience in a technical support role. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must hold one of the following certifications: A+ CE, Network+ CE, CCNA-Security, and/or SSCP. Must be highly skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals. Well-versed in installing Windows, software, applications, antivirus and patches. Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics. Proficient in working with end-users remotely. Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10. Familiar with Active Directory security and policies. Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access). Able to manage time and priorities effectively. Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Outstanding communication skills to relate with team members and support workers. Must be a US citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
