Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Technical Writer to provide training and development for technical staff in the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Lackland AFB.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and support Risk Management Framework data (i.e. SSP, POA&M, topology, etc.) to satisfy requirements to receive an approved Authority-to-Operate.  This documentation will allow the ISSO to submit the final ATO package.  Provide requirements analysis, engineering impact statements, cost estimates and course of action development in response to weapon system (WS) changes.  Provide technical analysis assistance that supports modernizing and synchronizing the WS.  Evaluate Government off the Shelf and Commercial off the Shelf applications and products for integration into the WS.  Provide support for strategy development to integrate the Cyberspace Defense Analysis (CDA) mission with evolving telecommunications and defensive cyber operations methodologies and mission sets.  Evaluate training and simulator for WS.  Design analysis to support architecture, modeling and simulation, interface evaluation and data migration.  Provide engineering and technical documentation support to Anti-Tamper Plans, Computer Aided Design drawings, Implementation Plans, Integrated Master Schedule’s, Program Protection Plans, Statements of Work, and Technical Orders.  Create and update Operator and Maintainer Technical Orders.   Provide Validation and Verification support to be in compliance with AF System Engineering Assessment Model.  Support test planning and activity for the Integrated Test Team and any associated testing working groups.  Create, develop and maintain Type I level training for operators, maintainers, training squadron, and PMO staff.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in a technical writing role.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.  Requires good communications skills and the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a Top Secret clearance with SCI.
