Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Agile Software Developer with experience working and/or leading on all phases of application programming and software development life cycle activities within the Intelligence Community.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Conduct design and development of software, determination of interfaces, and technical feasibility analysis.  Coordinate and perform requirements and implementation analysis, design, development, testing, and enhancement of application software.  Coordinate and/or perform integrations of COTS and other existing code.  Code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs.  Lead team tasks for configuring complex application programs from detailed specifications or developing, modifying, or configuring complex software applications from detailed specifications.  Draft detailed application coding specifications.  Lead all phases of applications programming and software development life cycle activities.

 

Develop code in compliance with requirements and defined architecture.  Support discrepancy report (DR) work-off.  Support Test Engineering for integration and test activities and events.  Participate in Discrepancy Report Review Board (DRRB), as needed.  Occasionally, provide support to operations (remotely and on-site).  Occasionally, provide input to cost estimation efforts for MCRs, ECPs, and proposal. 

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience using object-oriented techniques including at least 8 years of Java experience.  Bachelor's degree in a related field.  Experience with web application and web service development.  Experience with Java, J2EE, and interface tools such as Eclipse.  Understanding of the fundamentals of iterative development.  Experience drafting detailed application coding specifications, leading multiple concurrent tasks for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems and applications programs, and experience with all phases of SDLC activities (senior and principal levels).  Familiar with Agile development principles.  SCRUM training and/or certifications a plus for the high level positions.  Able to work independently or as part of team and to interact professionally within all levels of an organization.  Experience supporting Intelligence Community customers is desired.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI.
