Abacus Technology is seeking a Software Engineer to provide software, database, and network support for the Office of the Legal Advisor at the Department of State. This is a full-time position.
Define, review, evaluate, manage, organize, design and maintain company database(s) and conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Develop long-range requirements for database administration and design. Assess customer requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations. Assist the project manager by updating documents for the System Security Plan (SSP); the Contingency Plan (CP); the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and the software inventory. Conduct and review Documentum auditing to verify activities of users and the system for all events on a daily and weekly basis. Assist with preparation of ad-hoc SQL queries in response to attorney research work. Run administrative functions to load images to the Documentum database, move date from QA tables to evidence and archive data/image volumes after loads are complete. Provide full life cycle development support for new applications to be developed in C# and VB.NET. Work closely with the customer to ensure the application satisfies expectations. Provide ongoing O&M support for applications. Implement new and update of existing auditing features for an enterprise network. Support detailed audits of information technology systems and infrastructures to verify systems are secure and support the related applications or business processes.
2+ years experience in software or system engineering with software development, database administration, and network auditing. Bachelor’s in a related field. Thorough knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008/2012. Experience with Documentum a plus. Experience with C# and/or VB.NET. Experience with Powershell. Experience performing full life cycle functions to include requirements gathering and testing. Experience with projecting long-range requirements for database administration. Must have thorough hands-on experience in network and system support. Competent in all phases of information systems auditing. Knowledge of current technological developments and trends. Able to review and assess PCs, servers, network equipment, and applications. Familiar with all Federal regulations and standards related to system auditing. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize experience within database relationships using diagrams and explain how databases interact with one another. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen.
