Abacus Technology is seeking an Enterprise Infrastructure Configuration Baseline Auditor under the Air Force Network Integration Center (AFNIC), located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. This position shall work with Air Force entities at various levels to define enterprise-wide network infrastructure baselines within SolarWinds IT monitoring and management tool and develop/deploy an enterprise view. This is a full-time position.
NOTE: The primary work site is Scott AFB, IL but remote work is allowed. Initial requirement is two work weeks per month of on-site time at Scott AFB, IL. Once initial efforts are streamlined on-site time may be reduced by one week per month depending on Government need.
Research and analyze current Air Force infrastructure baseline efforts/processes and to thoroughly understand existing processes and how they fit into the greater Air Force mission. Collaborate with subject matter experts, program managers, system engineers and site engineers at multiple levels on integrating management of network architectures and related technologies into SolarWinds. Establish infrastructure configuration baselines in SolarWinds providing enterprise views of current infrastructure configurations across the domain. Brief organizations, with the approval of an Air Force entity, at multiple levels throughout the Air Force to include (but not limited to) squadron-level, base-level, Major Command (MAJCOM)-level, Network Operations Security Center (NOSC)-level, and Headquarters Air Force (HAF)-level. Combine industry best practices with Air Force benchmarks and mission needs to ensure configuration management processes in SolarWinds are repeatable, efficient, and effective. Provide process improvement recommendations as needed. This can include modifying existing processes/workflows or recommending new processes/workflows. Document new processes and update existing process documentation as needed. Train Air Force personnel to use the new SolarWinds-based configuration management audits.
5+ years of experience in defining enterprise-wide network infrastructure baselines within SolarWinds. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified or able to obtain the certification. In-depth knowledge of SolarWinds IT monitoring and management tool and develop/deploy. Capable of working independently and in a team environment. Able to work multiple priorities simultaneously. Interface with people at all levels in a professional manner regardless of communication medium. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Occasional travel to other sites may be required, depending on meeting locations and Government need. Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret clearance.
