Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Logistics Analyst to analyze, plan, and coordinate the supply chain for the business including product shipment, distribution, inventory control, packaging and handling, data mining, data modeling, and cost-benefit analysis.  This is a full-time position at NASA Headquarters and local offsite facilities.

Responsibilities

Analyze, organize, plan, and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs.  Define, measure, and improve supply chain activities, including product flow, inventory, and transportation.  Analyze contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements.  Develop logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of goods and supplies.  Identify, prioritize, and assess key logistics assets and infrastructures.  Develop policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.  Monitor inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times.  Streamline product handling, transportation, storage, and distribution

Qualifications

Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-2 years), intermediate (2-5 years), senior (5-11 years), specialist (11-16 years), and senior specialist (16+ years).  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s or graduate degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.  Must have or be willing to attend training in the following areas: CMMI; cybersecurity and sensitive unclassified information awareness; IT security awareness; and NASA elevate privileges.  Understanding of supply chain principles, theories, and concepts.  Able to develop business solutions to a variety of complex issues.  At the specialist and senior specialist levels, must be able to develop and manage complex solutions with minimal supervision or guidance and handle a wide degree of latitude.  At the specialist level, capable of representing the organization and acting as a consultant to management on matters concerning business initiatives.  At the senior specialist level, able to serve as the organization spokesperson on projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.  Solid communication skills are critical.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.
